Spine ends fraying and badly chipped, boards worn and discoloured. Book prize plate dated Dec 1933 to front free endpaper. The book should have 5 plates including the colour frontis which were drawn by W E Johns of Biggles fame. the first black and white plate facing page 108 is missing, 4 are present. there are also 8 pages illustrating aircraft maneuvers at the rear of the book. the endpaper illustrations could also be his work.
