The year is 2026 and the month is February. We visited Naarm Melbourne, Australia, for a week and it was fun! Whilst we didn't go very far out of the city, we did manage to reach Eltham and the Royal Melbourn Zoo using public transport and the occasional Uber. During our travels we found books, of course, although the primary reason was for research - one of us is a writer and is currently working on a book set in Naarm Melbourne.
The beauty of the trams, vibrancy of the city (except for Docklands but that's a story for another day!) and glory of so many different humans all weaving together made for a very interesting time. We ate well, got in way more steps than usual and found treasures.
The picture accompanying this blog is one of the books we found, although it isn't for sale, and brought back to WA with us. A big shout out to the amazing Queen Victoria Market book stall on weekends. It's rather fab.
Also fabulous is the Kay Craddock - Antiquarian Bookseller shop. So many amazing books instore and OWLS! Although the owls are not for sale, it is worth a visit simply to see how many owls roost in the shop. https://www.kaycraddock.com/
We are still operating as an online only store and will be doing so for the foreseeable future. Please contact us if you want to make an appointment to visit, it is possible although our visiting hours are quite short.
Enjoy 2026 and may the reading be fabulous!
